MAMO College Wins Dr. P. Vijayaragavan Memorial All-Kerala Staff Football Tournament
The Dr. P. Vijayaragavan Memorial All-Kerala College Staff Football Tournament, hosted by MAMO College, concluded with an impressive display of sporting spirit and statewide participation. A total of 18 colleges from different parts of Kerala competed in the tournament, making it one of the largest staff football events in the region.
In a thrilling final match, MAMO College emerged as the champions, showcasing remarkable teamwork and consistency throughout the tournament.Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College secured the runners-up position after putting up a strong fight in the finals.
The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Suma, the wife of the late Dr. P. Vijayaragavan, whose memory the tournament honours. Her presence added emotional significance to the opening ceremony, commemorating Dr. Vijayaragavan’s contributions to the academic and sports culture of Kerala’s higher education sector.
Teams from MSC Kozhikode, MES Mampad, Govt. Brennen College, Calicut University, St. Joseph’s Devagiri College, and several other institutions participated, making the event a vibrant platform for promoting staff-level sportsmanship.
After the final match, the Principal of MAMO College presented the championship trophy to the winning team amid loud cheers from students, staff, and supporters. The organisers expressed gratitude to all participating colleges and emphasized the institution’s commitment to continuing the tournament in the coming years.
