The Mohammad Abdurahiman Chair for Secular Studies at MAMO College, Mukkam, organized a seminar titled “Sahib: Politics, Pluralism & Press” on 13 November 2025 at the college Seminar Hall. The programme was conducted in collaboration with VYICOM College Mukkam, LISSAH College Kaithapoyil, and SAFI College Vazhayur. Prominent personalities such as Aryadan Shoukath MLA, Prof. P. Rajeev Nair, K. N. Kunjahammed, S. A. Ajims, T. J. Martin, Riyas Mukkoli, Dr. Manmathan, Dr. E. K. Sajith, Prof. E. P. Muhammedkutty, R. Ramalath and Dr. Sebin Chiramnel enriched the seminar with their insights. Their talks explored Mohammed Abdurahiman Sahib’s contributions to political thought, pluralism, journalism, and the shaping of Kerala’s socio-cultural identity.
Organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, the event aimed to encourage critical reflection on Sahib’s enduring legacy and its relevance in contemporary society. The seminar witnessed vibrant participation from students, faculty, and invited scholars, who engaged in dialogue on themes of democracy, media ethics, and communal harmony. The programme reaffirmed MAMO College’s commitment to fostering meaningful academic conversations and promoting value-based learning through public intellectual engagement.
